How your address is kept
Cupolet is made by me, Linhan Hsu, in Taiwan. This page is about the one thing this site collects, the email address you leave so that I can tell you when Cupolet ships, and the app will have its own policy when it launches. For questions, or for any of the requests below, write to linhan@cupolet.com.
What I collect
I keep your email address, which of the site’s forms you used, and which version of the line under that form you agreed to. The site doesn’t record your name or your IP address, sets no cookies, runs no script, and loads nothing from another company’s servers.
What it’s for
Two emails. The first arrives right after you sign up and asks you to confirm the address, which stops anyone from signing up someone else; the second is sent when Cupolet is on the App Store. The list is only for those two emails, and I won’t sell it or share it.
Why I’m allowed to
You asked. Sending the form and then confirming the address made that request; it is the only basis I rely on, and you can withdraw it whenever you like by emailing me.
Who handles it for me
EmailOctopus stores the list and sends both emails, and Cloudflare hosts the site, so Cloudflare’s servers see each request the way any web host’s servers do. What I get from Cloudflare are totals, such as the number of visits, with nothing in them that identifies a visitor. The emails show EmailOctopus’s logo, which your mail app loads from EmailOctopus’s servers; because everyone gets the same image, loading it can’t reveal which address opened an email.
How long
I delete the list after the launch email goes out. Should Cupolet be abandoned before it reaches the App Store, the list is deleted then and the launch email is never sent. An address that is never confirmed gets no other email and is deleted after 30 days. To come off sooner, use the unsubscribe link in the launch email, or email me at any point before it arrives.
Your rights
You can ask what I hold about you, correct it, have it deleted, or withdraw consent by emailing me, and I’ll answer within 30 days. Taiwan’s Personal Data Protection Act gives the same rights to anyone there: to see, copy, correct or add to your data, and to have me stop using it or delete it. In the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority. Giving your address is optional. Without it, the only difference is that I can’t tell you when Cupolet ships.
Changes
When this page changes, the date at the bottom changes with it, and an address you’ve already given won’t be used for anything new unless I’ve asked you again first.
